#19.1 (WEEK 8) Alaska's Digital Pipeline

Please note that Alaska's Digital Pipeline and other electronic resources in this activity are available only to Alaska residents through this access. If you are not an Alaska resident, the activities may be completed with other databases specific to your state or school or with databases such as the National Institute of Health.

Access the Digital Pipeline and if you have not accessed the databases before, check out the tutorials.

Discovery Exercises:
There are many things that you have access to through the Digital Pipeline. Find some of the following:
  • Create a folder for yourself and save some articles on library topics into the folder
  • Find the directions for creating a journal alert and a search alert (EBSCO Support)
  • Find out if your favorite professional journal is available
  • Explore the difference between the Kids interface and the Middle School and High School Interfaces.
  • Explore the Consumer Health Database and find 1 of each of the following: Pamphlet, Images/Diagrams, Videos/Animations
  • Check out the Flash Movie explaining the upcoming changes to the EBSCO Host interface.
  • And finally, be sure to check out MORE from the categories list. Note the small engine and automotive repair offerings.
Blog about at least 3 new things you discovered in your exploration and how you plan to introduce your students and staff to these resources.
